Scottish rural surveyor recognised as European valuer
Written by Michelle Martin from Agriland
Martin Hall, senior director of Davidson and Robertson, Scotland’s oldest firm of Valuers and Rural Consultants, has been appointed as a Recognised European Valuer (REV) by TEGOVA – the European Group of Valuers’ Association.
REV status is the mark of excellence in real estate valuation, demonstrating to international and local clients that the valuer is qualified to a consistent high European standard of practice.
Martin has over 30 years’ experience as a Rural Surveyor and is a past president of the Scottish Agricultural Arbiters’ and Valuers’ Association (SAAVA), an examiner for the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) and honorary vice-president of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS).
He is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association, the Compulsory Purchase Association and was appointed to the CAAV President’s Panel of Arbitrators in 2021.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin said: “In these changing times, when investment in the environment and carbon footprint are growing in importance, the REV status enables European property investors to identify local UK valuers qualified to the European standard.

Unfortunately, I don't know who Martin Hall is. The best surveyor for me is Stephen Jones, who represents a newcastle surveyors company https://www.sjonessurveying.co.uk/newcastle-surveyors/. The advice from this company was quick, reliable, effective, and helpful. Communication with Stephen was brilliant. He answered some questions we had after inspecting my new home. His review was outstanding and very detailed, and he provided numerous photos to support us. Thanks to his inspection, we could get a price reduction on the house. I am very satisfied, recommend it 100%, and will definitely use it again if needed.
