Sync to google contacts
would love the ability to have a clean sync back to google contacts, or at least to the iphone.
Hi,
We’re happy to announce that we now have a solution for syncing with Nimble and Google Contacts. We developed this through a partnership with a great group of people from the PieSync team.
For Solo Users, this service is completely free of charge.
For Team Users, it is $5.00 per user, per month.
Feel free to visit the PieSync site to install the app and try it for 14 days!
To read more about the integration, please visit our blog post here.
If you have any specific feedback to leave for this feature, we will be monitoring here for feedback
Best regards,
Joseph

I don't understand why this feature isn't on the top of your priority list! Just look at the comments and the number of votes! Not having this feature is driving me insane!

Just found Nimble and it looks great, but I'm not sure if I can use it without this feature.

Hi,
What with the need to synchronise between many devices it seems more than logical that Contacts sync both ways between Nimble & Google Apps/Contacts. The also provides the added benefit and assurance that Email, Calendar & Contacts are backed up in the Cloud, whilst keeping Nimble at the centre of our CRM activity. -

Due to the lack of this feature I've been forced to test Base CRM for a couple of weeks and I must admit: it's pretty cool. But they do not have Social integration yet. If Base CRM is able to launch something similar: How many Nimble customers would go?
BTW, Insightly have both features. How many Nimble customers have already gone? -

I don't see how background, two-way syncing with Google Contacts WOULDN'T be a critical product update for Nimble. How are you guys talking yourself out of this?

This would definitely help my business and make it hard for me to leave nimble

BTW - Nimble - you promised two-way sync Q2 2013. What went wrong?
I have been testing Base CRM too, and since you apparently do not answer new postings here, I will leave you for Base CRM, because they have "sync" solution available (by creation of new calendars and contact groups)

No syncing - such a deal breaker!
Should I rely on third party solutions, and in that way put myself in a nightmare of different SLAs and variable support quality, if the service should fail and delete, duplicate or "freeze" the contacts?
Or do Nimble have a back to back agreements with Zapier, which ensures un-interrupted sync service?

Hi Jeff,
I don't see any problems with this method. My understanding is that Google Contacts for Android users is akin to iCloud contacts for iPhone users. Both are meant to keep contacts synced across every device.
Once we build out two-way syncing with Google Contacts, your Android contacts will sync with Nimble, via Google Contacts.
Cheers,
Joseph

Joseph,
FYI, I, and I assume many other Android users, need to treat Google contacts as our central database because it syncs across devices and google services. Therefore, I continue to keep my contacts up to date in gmail then sync periodically with Nimble. Do you see any problems with this method?

A clean sync back from my sorted contacts on nimble would be great. +1

Just checking in here since I was informed that if I didn't log in, my account would be deleted. Of course, I'm not logged in 24/7 because there is no contact syncing with Google. I guess I will wait for the next email and check again then. Sigh.

A word on behalf of the developers here. I don't work for Nimble, and I'm not a coder, but I have coded in the past, have been a director/shareholder of software companies and I think I understand why this is taking so long to implement (even though this is something I could really do with myself).
From a software company's viewpoint, syncing is a bit of a nightmare.
It looks simple: just provide a 2-way sync, like what you do now, but it both directions. Easy, right? Actually it's anything but. Leaving aside the actual coding there are plenty of real issues in the business rules such as which update takes precedence (not as simple as it seems), dealing with changes that take place *while* syncing and the question of which fields you should amalgamate rather than overwrite.
Get any of this (or any other of many issues) wrong and you run the risk of screwing up a customer's data - the cardinal sin of a cloud service provider. Which is better? Offer a service which you believe to be 100% reliable, only to have it go wrong in the 0.01% case which fails a customer - or keep investigating and trialing in private but in public don't offer the service or put it on the road map (which is frustrating for customers, but not disastrous)?
Even though I could really use this update myself, I know which option I'd choose if I were the platform provider.

Really important as you do not have a andriod app. I have moved from Zoho which has both but I like Nimbles social media links.

HUGE DISSATISFIER!!!
Seemless sync with contact source should be top priority. I'm using Google contacts.
