Nimble tasks integrate with Asana
I'm using Asana for task management. Not quite sure what it'd look like but getting repetitive inputting tasks in both Nimble and Asana.
Hi,
Unfortunately, we are not planning on releasing an integration with Asana and Nimble.
Instead, we are focusing on improving our internal Activities tab to make it easier to manage tasks with your team members.
We recently released in-application task notifications for Nimble. Please see our support article for more information: http://support.nimble.com/customer/portal/articles/771824-new-feature-notifications-for-tasks
Thank you for all of your feedback and support!
Best regards,
Joseph

Agree some form on API integration, even if using Zapier

Hi Steve,
We will open up other parts of our API to help users link to project management tools at a later time.
For now, you can use our Nimble Smart Contacts App for your browser to use Nimble while you are on the Asana tab on your browser.
Best,
Joseph

Not sure I understand the hesitation to allow a program like Zapier to plug into newly created tasks in Nimble. It is hard for me to envision a user that is tech savvy enough to use Nimble, but does not use some other task management or project management tool. Right now, the only thing Zapier can do with Nimble is report out when a new contact is added. Perhaps the functionality is there to allow Nimble to report out new tasks and it is a Zapier shortcoming. But if the issue is Nimble's, I'd sure like to hear more on whether allowing this functionality in the API will be forthcoming (not talking specific integration to a particular other tool). For me, (longterm) it is an unworkable solution to have to silo tasks for contact management in Nimble and have all of my other tasks elsewhere.

This might work: https://zapier.com/zapbook/asana/nimble/

Has there been an reconsideration of this feature? Asana is so awesome and growing in functionality and value weekly. It would make so much sense to have tasks/activities sync between Nimble and Asana. While every team uses their own cloud app here (developers - Jira, Proofhub; accounting - xero; sales - CRM, contactually), Asana is our main hub for all tasks and communications for all departments.

George how did you setup Asana as an external page?

Will there be some type of project automation/workflow tool within Nimble? I've been using nimble now for a while and really need some sort of task automation.

Hi George,
We definitely don't have any plans to compete directly with Asana, so no need to read into my statement!
Also, thank you for sharing that you've added Asana as an external webpage to Nimble. I will add this to our support FAQ.
Thank you!

Are we to read into this that Nimble has plans to build out a project management tool to compete with Asana? That would be ideal. Otherwise, a refusal to consider integration doesn't make much sense since Asana is far more than a task scheduling tool.
As a work around the External Web Pages allows me to add Asana as a tab.

That's too bad. You don't realy beed to integrate, although that would be wonderful, but if you would use their API, any task created in Nimble could be created in Asana, marked as done, etc. Similar to the way you integrate to Google Calendar.
I hope you would reconsider your decision.

That is really unfortunate as Asana is more than just a task sharing system. I am able to develop repeatable tasks/workflows easily and can coordinate their completion. Is there a workflow/project management component in Nimble on the horizon? If so, perhaps you may consider similar setup as Asana and if not, an integration would make a lot of sense.

This would be perfect as the nimble tasks do not even get close to what is possible with asana

I agree completely! They have a great API as well. I am sure you could find a way to sync tasks.

Asana is the best task manager I have found so far.
