Move the Lead Source field in the Deals record
The lead Type, Status and Source fields are now entered in the Contacts record (for a specific Deal). This is the wrong place. The source of any opportunity (aka Deal) will stay the same, but contacts change over time, especially if you have a long sales cycle.
SFDC has this one right. The lead source is attached to the Opportunity record, and then you can add people to the deal, designating them as things like Decision Maker, Influencer, etc.
You could conceivably get to the same place with your approach, but it forces you to remember to change a lot of Contacts records, and in any event makes reporting less flexible and reliable.
For me, I want to know what tactics are working, and I really can't rely on that data.
