have a description field in contacts so we can place long-form notes that should always stay front and center.
I work in a company that is all about building relationships. Part of building relationships is knowing things about that person such as their goals and motivations, their working styles and preferences, that stay fairly consistent over time.
I would like to be able to write these kinds of notes and have them show up directly in a contact's profile in Nimble for my entire team to have access to. Right now there is no good way to display this kind of very important information.

intelligently generate stay in touch reminders based on ongoing interactions instead of scheduling reminders via task due dates
When NimbleCRM asks if a contact is important and how often I want to stay in touch with that contact, I would like Nimble to remind me if I fall out of contact with that person, not tell me to follow up with someone on an arbitrary date set in the future.
Here's how it would work.
- I interact with an important contact via email.
- Nimble asks me if this contact is important, I say "Yes"
- Nimble presents the choice, "Help me stay in touch: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually"
- I select "Quarterly"
- Nimble starts tracking how long it's been…

I would like the ability to designate contacts as important, rather than being asked.
Rather than being asked (through some cycled time intervals), I'd like to designate contacts as "Important" on my own.
3 votesYou may mark contacts as important by checking the star icon next to their name.

Ability to sort by Klout score
It would be great if Nimble allowed me to find my most influential contacts by having the ability to sort by Klout score.

Hi John,
Thank you for writing in today.
We have the ability to clear search results by selecting the “X” on the blue search bar after your results are presented.
Please see my screenshot for an example:

Allow tags to be edited in list view
Rather than having to open each contact to edit their tags, it would be so much quicker to be able to edit them in the list view.
1 voteHi John,
Thank you for writing in. You actually can edit tags from the list view in Nimble, all you need to do is hover your mouse cursor over a tag and you’ll see the option to edit or delete a tag.
Please see the bottom of this article for details: http://support.nimble.com/customer/portal/articles/88665-tags-overview

Provide a single row per contcat List View option
It would be great to have the option to display contacts in a single row list view, resembling a spreadsheet, with fields displayed in sortable columns. Better still, very handy when creating a mailing or call list, each row could have a check box. Check the ones you don't want in the final list, then select Invert Selection and the system selects all those contacts except the ones you checked. Then select "make list current" and now those unchecked contacts have gone. Even better still if only the top half of the screen showed the rows of the list, but…

Show the Stay In Touch button on all contacts, not just the contacts surfaced on the Today tab.
i really like the new stay in touch button next to contacts on the Today tab, it should be available on any contact anywhere in the system.

Stay in touch
I love Nimble, but I do miss the Stay In Touch feature with Salesforce.com. A way to send an email for a contact to validate or update their information, and remove bounced records where the email is no longer valid
Would love this feature in Nimble. Perhaps there is a way to do it through MailChimp to send out information on contacts and have people update it through some portal. I do not know but would love it.

Recently contacted - shoule work for new contacts you add
I use gmail and if I email someone who is not in Nimble and then add them to Nimble, they will not show at the top of my recently contacted list. They only show up at the top if I email them after I add them to Nimble. Nimble should use the email date/time to determine the sort order of "recently contacted"
1 voteHi,
Thank you for writing in.
If you have your Gmail connected to Nimble and the contact information for the user you emailed, they will appear at the top of the “Recently Contacted” list.
We already use the email date/time to show sort order, so if you add this user and their email address to Nimble, they’ll appear on top of the “Recently Contacted” list.
If you continue to have issues, please reply back to care@nimble.com and we will troubleshoot and investigate this issue for you.

defualt contact field values
This has been said before by others, but it is extremely annoying to have the default phone category set to "home fax". None of my contacts has a home fax. The default should be set to "work" for a business CRM. And same goes for email and address, both are set to "home" by default. all of these should be set to "work" by default if the default can't be set by the user. Until then, it means that every contact entered requires extra effort.
3 votesHi Doug,
We just released an update today to fix this issue, but we chose “Main” to be the primary field value for Phone numbers.
Here’s the new hierarchy we have for field values:
Phone modifiers in this order:
1. Main
2. Work
3. Mobile
4. Home
5. Work Fax
6. Home Fax
7. OtherEmail modifiers
1. Work
2. Personal
3. OtherAddress modifier
1. Work
2. Home
3. OtherIf you have any questions, please write back to me at care@nimble.com and I’ll be happy to help.

Allow users to set default fields on contact records
Right now, when we create a contact from scratch, when we enter the phone number it automatically gets assigned the "work fax" label. We have to then go and edit the information. Also, if we do enter a fax number for the account it automatically gets displayed as the default "phone number" in the at-a-glance information or the contact, resulting in a frustrating experience. I think this is is a bug that needs to be addressed.
1 voteHi George,
We have fixed this issue in Nimble and have added a hierarchy for default field values that appear at the top of a contact record.
This is the hierarchy we have in place for fields values that default to the top of contact records.
Phone modifiers in this order:
1. Main
2. Work
3. Mobile
4. Home
5. Work Fax
6. Home Fax
7. OtherEmail modifiers
1. Work
2. Personal
3. OtherAddress modifier
1. Work
2. Home
3. OtherIf you have any questions, please write back to me at care@nimble.com and I’ll be happy to help.

It would be helpful
When you bring up your contacts that you can also be able to source them by state location and create tags like - specialty, business type or categories i.e. medical, marketing, sales, doctors, societies and or organizations This would allow more orderly approach to managing contacts within the network so that you can drill down to what you need.
1 voteHi Quintin,
Thank you for writing to us today.
At the current moment, you can search for contacts on these criteria by using the Advanced Search function in Nimble.
You can run advanced searches on contacts based on location, and from the list, you can add a tag to these contacts.
Please email us at care@nimble.com and we can provide you with the exact information you will need to achieve your needs!

Capture and auto populate contact info into Nimble
I would love the ability to capture a contact's name, email, phone, address etc from the web or snap a picture of a business card and have it automatically populate into Nimble.
This is a function of Windows Based Contact Capture or Chrome Contact Clipper for Evernote.
29 votesHi,
Thank you for writing in. We now have an integration with Rapportive for Gmail which allows users to capture and populate contact records from Gmail to Nimble.
For more information, please see our article here : http://www.nimble.com/how-it-works/integrations/rapportive/

can copy and paste an address
On the contact screen, please display the contact's name, company and address so I can just copy and paste the address to use on an address label. Why do I have to copy and paste everything individually, and then add line breaks? Does no one send letters or packages any more? Thanks!

Set a contact's primary email address
Each contact really needs to have a means to suggest a "primary" email. At the moment it appears to be random what is at the top of a list (where you have multiple emails for a contact).
This is important as this is the email that is displayed on the contact summary page, attached to the user's name in tasks/activities and elsewhere.
It is also important to establish what is the best way to reach someone
13 votesUse “Main” as the primary email designator.

Create a "watch list" of contacts and an easy way of marking them to be watched
There are certain high priority contacts I want to monitor carefully. I'd like to be able to have them all appear on one screen.
I realise I could do this by tagging them as "watch" or something - but that's quite a slow process - many clicks needed.
What I'd like is just a space in each contact record like the stars you have now where I could just click to add them to the watch list. Then a button or menu item to look at the watch list. That would make my workflow much simpler.
Thanks!
1 voteHi Ian,
Thank you for writing in.
At the current moment, you can add a tag to contacts that you would like to specify for a certain “watch list”. Then, you will be able to select all of these contacts from a tag on the Contacts tab.
Thank you for your feedback and support!

Add the ability to set specific contacts as private
Sales staff should be able to "protect" their contacts from other sales people from getting deleted, used, shared, etc.
Admins should be able to create a contact then share with particular people of their choice (creating a custom territory for their sales team).
Admin needs more control and 'management' features over team.
ALSO... contacts need to backed up incase they get deleted, in general.... having to update an exported CSV routinely and run the risk of all public contacts among my team will cause me to choose another CRM as we grow.
701 votesWe now have a privacy feature. You can set granular permissions on the contacts for reading and writing and share contacts with individual team members and groups.
